    A new kind of internship<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

    The inaugural class of Project SEARCH, a nine-month internship program that provides career training to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, graduated this week.<\/p>\n

    <\/div>\n

    Through the program that is a collaboration between Virtua Health and the Burlington County Special Services School District, the six students who made up the graduating class completed 10-week rotations in multiple hospital departments over the school year. <\/p>\n

    The participants gathered hands-on experience working in multiple departments such as cardiology, physical therapy, food services, and patient transport. <\/p>\n

    \u201cI have built real skills, gained so much confidence, and discovered what I am truly capable of achieving,\u201d Alyssa Eiring said in her commencement speech at the graduation ceremony in Westhampton<\/b>. <\/p>\n
