Nights are even warmer.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Philly and its surrounding counties are set for what could be a record-breaking $322 million in federal and state money for trails.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>A scrap metal recycling plant will reopen afterCamden suspended its operations following a late-May fire, the most recent in a string of fires in recent years.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>A spring freeze destroyed crops in South Jersey. Clare Cosenza wrote in to tell us about one that we missed:<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><i>In your list of best farmers markets, I didn\u2019t see any Bucks County markets represented. I would like to introduce you to one that many consider a gem.<\/i><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><i>It\u2019s <\/i><i>Wrightstown Farmer\u2019s Market<\/i><i>, located at the Middletown Grange Fairgrounds in Wrightstown. (Pictures, if you have them, are always welcome.)<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>Rowing \u2018like an athlete\u2019<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><i>\ud83c\udfa4 <\/i><i><b>Now we\u2019re passing the microphone to sports editor Isabella DiAmore.<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>It was Valentine\u2019s Day 2022 when Shannan McConnell found a rash near her neck that felt like a lump. Then, everything went awry. She was diagnosed with breast cancer and quickly began her treatment.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>There wasn\u2019t much time to process what was happening to her, she says.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>McConnell is no longer in active treatment, and even though her doctors have told her, \u201cyou\u2019re cancer free \u2014 you can put this behind you,\u201d she can\u2019t. Many cancer survivors can\u2019t, she says. However, for the past three years, McConnell has found an outlet that has given her strength and community. It\u2019s paddling in a boat with a group of women.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>WeCanRow-Philadelphia is a rowing program through Whitemarsh Boat Club for breast cancer survivors. The Philly chapter is supported through the Survivor Rowing Network, which has more than 30 participating programs around the nation.
