{"id":273,"date":"2026-05-30T23:13:22","date_gmt":"2026-05-30T23:13:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/corporate-movers-usa.com\/?p=273"},"modified":"2026-05-30T23:13:22","modified_gmt":"2026-05-30T23:13:22","slug":"rowan-softballs-season-ends-with-4-2-loss-to-belhaven-in-division-iii-softball-championship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/corporate-movers-usa.com\/?p=273","title":{"rendered":"Rowan softball\u2019s season ends with 4-2 loss to Belhaven in Division III softball championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<div><audio><\/audio><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Things got off track quickly for Rowan in a win-or-go home game in the Division III softball championship on Saturday at the Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Va.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate-movers-usa.com\/?p=271\">Day 1 of the the Roots Picnic with Ja\u00ff-Z opened with optimism at Belmont Plateau<\/a><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>A four-run opening frame was all it took for the seventh-seeded Belhaven to eliminate the eighth-seeded Profs, 4-2. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Junior Melissa Lopera\u2019s three-run home run followed an RBI single and put the Blazers (44-11) up early, leaving Rowan (43-11) in a hole it couldn\u2019t come climb out of, despite its 12 hits against Belhaven\u2019s pitchers, juniors Macy Funderburk and Karley Rouse. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m just proud of the battle that we showed,\u201d coach Kim Wilson told reporters postgame. \u201cTo come back, score a couple runs, have bases loaded, to be in a position to even stay in the game, let alone battle through at-bats, and chasing their starter out of the game, I\u2019m really proud of what these kids did today.\u201d<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>After pitching in Friday\u2019s 10-2 run-rule loss to Redlands, senior Emily McCutcheon was back in the circle for the Profs. She tossed a complete game and allowed four runs on seven hits with three strikeouts. McCutcheon\u2019s first college win in 2023 and final loss of her senior year came against Belhaven, which hails from Jackson, Miss. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>\u201cAfter that first inning, I knew I had to change my mindset in some way and still stay up in the dugout and show everyone that I\u2019m here and we\u2019re going to fight in this game,\u201d McCutcheon said. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Rowan cut its deficit in half in the fourth inning. Freshman Gia DiMeglio stole home to put the Profs on the board, and then an RBI single from freshman Emma Dobkin brought senior Abigail Pawloski home to give Rowan its only two runs of the game. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate-movers-usa.com\/?p=269\">Tim Ream will captain the USMNT at the World Cup: \u2018We\u2019re so lucky to have a player like him\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Senior catcher Kate Evick said McCutcheon\u2019s ability to battle back in the final six innings kept the Profs in the game, but the struggle came offensively.
