{"id":2804,"date":"2026-07-19T21:40:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-19T21:40:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/corporate-movers-usa.com\/?p=2804"},"modified":"2026-07-19T21:40:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-19T21:40:09","slug":"after-39-days-phillys-fifa-fan-festival-comes-to-an-end","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/corporate-movers-usa.com\/?p=2804","title":{"rendered":"After 39 days, Philly\u2019s FIFA Fan Festival comes to an end"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<div><audio><\/audio><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>For the past month-plus, the grounds of East Fairmount Park have been a buzzy constant for local and visiting soccer fans, a carnival-like collection of food, games, live music, and \u2014 most notably \u2014 the city\u2019s official World Cup watch party. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate-movers-usa.com\/?p=2802\">The new Nike Air Force 1 shoes bear a striking resemblance to Gritty<\/a><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>No longer. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Sunday marked the conclusion of the 39-day marathon FIFA Fan Festival at Lemon Hill, as Argentina and Spain faced off in the 3 p.m. World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>For the last month and a half, the festival \u2014 which was free to attend \u2014 was met largely with positive reviews, as fans have flocked to the grounds even after the  last World Cup game hosted in Philadelphia came and went. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>An ambitious endeavor years in the making, the event took up one million square feet of space and was billed, at least in part, as an accessible way for soccer fans to enjoy the World Cup, as skyrocketing game ticket costs had made live attendance impossible for many. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>In addition to soccer, the festival played host to a variety of concerts, including Leon Thomas, Bebe Rexha, and the All-American Rejects.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>\u201cHaving it at the park has been a great idea,\u201d said Akio Wise, who is originally from North Philly and was in town visiting family from the West Palm Beach, Fla., area. \u201cEveryone seems to be having a good time.\u201d <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Indeed, it wasn\u2019t lost on many how the festival \u2014 and the World Cup in general \u2014 had brought a sense of bliss to this notoriously curmudgeonly city. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>\u201cPeople have just been nicer,\u201d said Suzanne Bachman, 66, of Philadelphia, who joined the masses at Lemon Hill. \u201cWe needed something positive.\u201d <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Fans began gathering early for Sunday\u2019s final, with thousands of people lining the streets of the neighborhood surrounding the park, waiting for gates to open at 2 p.m. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate-movers-usa.com\/?p=2800\">Philly got a break from wildfire smoke Sunday, but will the fresh air last?<\/a><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Some were old pros, having made multiple trips to the festival over the summer. Others wanted to make sure they got a taste of the event before it was shuttered. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Cathy and Clyde Maynard, who are originally from Trinidad and Tobago, said they couldn\u2019t let the experience pass without seeing it for themselves. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Their verdict? <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThey did a nice job,\u201d said Clyde. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Some, certainly, weren\u2019t ready to see it go. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Asked whether he\u2019d miss the festival, Oscar Bibian chuckled. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>\u201cOf course,\u201d said the 38-year-old, who lives in the Philly area. \u201cWatching soccer and drinking a beer is great.\u201d <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Not surprisingly, it wasn\u2019t just soccer that brought people to Lemon Hill on the festival\u2019s final day. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>\u201cMy wife wanted to get one of the bracelets,\u201d said Wise. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>The ultra-viral \u2014 and difficult to procure \u2014 charm bracelets have been a social media sensation, and the primary objective of at least some of those in attendance.
