Meet Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge\u2019s first staff vet <\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

Meet Amanda Cameron, Cedar Run\u2019s first staff veterinarian in its nearly 70-year history as a wildlife refuge in Medford<\/b>. <\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Roughly 8,000 annual birds, raccoons, rabbits, turtles, and other types of animals come though Cedar Run for care each year. <\/p>\n

<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

Cameron has a relatively rare job as one of the few full-time wildlife vets in the tristate area. Cedar Run\u2019s executive director doesn\u2019t know of any other wildlife refuge with a vet on staff. <\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

With only two weeks on the job, she\u2019s doesn\u2019t have the complete operational space yet to conduct exams and procedures, but she\u2019s been able to start on a few cases. So far, she\u2019s received a warm welcome, especially from the refuge\u2019s rehabbers who are eager to learn from her and potentially save more animals.<\/p>\n

The family of the man who died at Delaney Hall wants answers<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

Edwin Jeovanny L\u00f3pez Cornejo, an immigrant from El Salvador, died on Saturday at the Delaney Hall ICE facility in Newark <\/b>after having a medical episode. The facility has been the subject of national attention as the site of ongoing protests, political fights, and complaints of poor conditions.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

According to his family, he had been living in the U.S. for two decades before he was detained on June 18. They accuse ICE of neglecting to provide proper medical care. <\/p>\n

Danilo Lopez, the brother of L\u00f3pez Cornejo, put forth a list of demands in a Tuesday news conference which include: <\/p>\n
