He had been shot through the back of the head, they said. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>While investigators initially believed Baxter\u2019s death was a suicide because he was found with a 9mm pistol in his hand, they soon questioned the nature of the crime after finding irregularities in statements made by Danielle Baxter. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Assistant District Attorney Ashley Toczylowski of the homicide unit outlined those details during Baxter\u2019s plea hearing before Common Pleas Court Judge Scott O\u2019Keefe. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>It was Danielle Baxter who called police to report her husband\u2019s death, Toczylowski said. She told investigators she came across her husband\u2019s body while she was taking out the trash that morning at her West Bells Mill Road home. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>But investigators noted that Baxter was breathing heavily on the call and was unable to answer basic questions about her husband\u2019s condition, she said. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Inside the home, police found blood pooling on Baxter\u2019s bed where a pillow would be. Baxter, Toczylowski said, lied when she told police the blood was there because she had recently had her period. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate-movers-usa.com\/?p=3648\">Giants\u2019 Abdul Carter sets the goal of being the NFL Defensive Player of the Year<\/a><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Investigators later downloaded data from Baxter\u2019s Apple Watch and learned she had recorded a \u201cvery steep level of activity\u201d between 1 and 4 a.m. the morning Jordan Baxter was killed, activity they attributed to climbing multiple flights of stairs. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>And investigators eventually determined that the bullet that killed Jordan Baxter was not of the same caliber as the weapon found on his body. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Rather, the bullet matched a gun that investigators recovered from Danielle Baxter\u2019s closet, Toczylowski said. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Taken together, those factors led investigators to believe the killing \u201cwas not a suicide, but rather a staged homicide,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Baxter said little in O\u2019Keefe\u2019s courtroom beyond acknowledging that she was pleading guilty to third-degree murder and possessing an instrument of a crime. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>She is expected to be sentenced Nov. 18 and could face five to 15 years in prison. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Jonathan Strange, Baxter\u2019s attorney with the Defender Association of Philadelphia, declined to comment. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate-movers-usa.com\/?p=3646\">The new season of \u2018Task\u2019 will be another dad vs. dad story, this time with new cast members<\/a><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Danielle Baxter, 40, lied to investigators about the nature of 38-year-old Jordan Baxter&#8217;s killing, prosecutors said. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":3651,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-3652","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.7 -
