The saga over Monroe\u2019s data center ban continues as Collingswood considers its own<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

Monroe Township<\/b> is doubling down on its data center ban. <\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Officials recently requested to dismiss a $300 million lawsuit from Hexa Builders \u2014<\/i> a Princeton-based real estate developer that wants to build a 1 million-square-foot data center \u2014<\/i> that challenges the municipality\u2019s ban. <\/p>\n

<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

The saga continues as Hexa Builders pushes for the case to go back to state court instead of federal. <\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Meanwhile, Collingswood <\/b>pursued its own ban through an ordinance that would amend the borough\u2019s code. <\/p>\n

Other South Jersey municipalities to consider and pass similar bans include Cherry Hill<\/b>, Millville<\/b>, and Medford<\/b>. <\/p>\n

When the Cherry Hill Board of Education filed a 128-page lawsuit back in February, it claimed the \u201cnumerous, repeated, and vexatious\u201d requests he filed under the state\u2019s Open Public Records Act qualified as harassment. <\/p>\n

Superior Court Judge Michael Mikulski disagreed. On July 31, the judge dismissed the case and stated the district failed to provide evidence of ill-intent. <\/p>\n
