{"id":3882,"date":"2026-08-14T19:09:13","date_gmt":"2026-08-14T19:09:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/corporate-movers-usa.com\/?p=3882"},"modified":"2026-08-14T19:09:13","modified_gmt":"2026-08-14T19:09:13","slug":"delaware-county-district-attorney-says-aldan-borough-police-shooting-of-23-year-old-man-was-justified","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/corporate-movers-usa.com\/?p=3882","title":{"rendered":"Delaware County district attorney says Aldan borough police shooting of 23-year old man was justified"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<div><audio><\/audio><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Delaware County District Attorney\u2019s office Friday said Aldan borough police were justified in fatally shooting a man  last week. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate-movers-usa.com\/?p=3880\">Bucks man charged with homicide in wife\u2019s strangling death<\/a><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>District Attorney Tanner Rouse called the shooting a \u201ctragedy\u201d at a news conference Friday but said that the Aldan Borough police officer who shot him was justified, \u201cnot just legally, but as a person.\u201d <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>\u201cWhat you will see is a young man who unfortunately seemed very intent on this outcome,\u201d Rouse said. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>The Montogomery County Coroner\u2019s Office identified the man police shot as 23-year-old Ugochukwu Ilodigwe.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Police were responding to a \u201crequest for service\u201d 911 call the morning of Aug. 7, Rouse said. These calls are a public service where residents request police to take them somewhere, Rouse said. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>The DA\u2019s office played body camera footage that showed the chaotic, deadly incident. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>When the officer arrived, she was attacked and knocked to the ground, video shows. Ilodigwe could be seen holding a \u201cmeat cutting\u201d knife in the footage, Rouse noted, which he said was about a foot long. Ilodigwe could be heard shouting for her to \u201cshoot me, don\u2019t shoot me\u201d in the video.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>The officer shouted \u201cTaser, Taser, Taser!\u201d and shot Ilodigwe with the stun gun, video shows. He fell to the ground, and she repeatedly ordered him to put his hands behind his back. Rouse pointed out that Ilodigwe could be seen reaching for the knife as he lay on the ground. He also could be heard saying he had a gun, Rouse said. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate-movers-usa.com\/?p=3879\">The Union are out of the Leagues Cup, but a busy \u2014 and important \u2014 stretch of MLS play awaits<\/a><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Eventually, Ilodigwe got up, was shot again with the Taser, and after it didn\u2019t stop him, the police officer shot him twice, the video shows. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>The officer is cleared to return to active duty, said Aldan borough Mayor Michael Ceci. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThis was a tragic event all around. The conclusion of this investigation doesn\u2019t change the fact that a family has lost a loved one, and we recognize the grief they are experiencing,\u201d Ceci said. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>By Friday afternoon, Ilodiwge\u2019s family had raised over $4,500 for burial costs on fundraising website GoFundMe. Contacted Thursday, Ilodigwe\u2019s sister Kenechukwu declined to comment and did not respond to a request for comment Friday.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI am creating this fundraiser to help my family lay my brother to rest after his sudden and heartbreaking death. He was killed recently in a situation with the police, and our lives have been changed forever,\u201d said a post attributed to his sister, Kenechukwu Ilodigwe. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>She said Ugochukwu was a \u201cbright, giving person\u201d who loved football, jokes, \u201cand how big his dreams and aspirations were.\u201d <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>\u201cHe had the kind of heart that could brighten anyone\u2019s day, and he would give to someone in need even if it meant going without himself.
