They will host the New York Knicks on the first night of NBA Cup group play on Oct. 30, a game televised by Amazon Prime. It will be the Sixers’ second matchup against the defending champions in the season’s first two weeks, following an opening night visit to Madison Square Garden on Oct. 20.
The Sixers’ other NBA Cup group play games will be Nov. 6 at the Cleveland Cavaliers (Amazon Prime), Nov. 25 vs. the Miami Heat (ESPN), and Nov. 27 at the Indiana Pacers.

The Sixers’ other announced games so far are a Christmas Day matchup at the Los Angeles Lakers, and their Oct. 22 home opener against the Cavaliers. The remaining schedule will be released Thursday afternoon, per the NBA.
The Sixers are coming off a transformative offseason when they added the legendary LeBron James and All-NBA wing Jaylen Brown to a core already featuring All-NBA guard Tyrese Maxey, former NBA Most Valuable Player Joel Embiid, and rising guard VJ Edgecombe. They are now considered preseason title contenders in a deep Eastern Conference.
