Responding to a radio report of gunfire Sunday afternoon, Philadelphia Police found a man shot to death near the Tacony Boat Launch.

It was just before 5 p.m., when patrol officers discovered the man shot multiple times in the 5100 block of Princeton Avenue, where both the boat launch and Quaker City Yacht Club are tucked away along the Delaware River waterfront.

Within minutes paramedics pronounced the victim, whose name and age have yet to be released, dead on the scene.

Investigators are currently working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No motive has been established, police said.

The victim became the 59th homicide in Philadelphia in 2026, a nearly 40 percent decrease in killings from the same time last year.
